What is "adhocParty for PlayStation®Portable"?

『adhocParty for PlayStation®Portable 』is a service that makes use of the Ad Hoc feature of the PSP®
(PlayStation®Portable) system and the broadband network feature of the PlayStation®3 system to allow players in
different locations to enjoy Ad Hoc feature of PSP® titles together.

How to use "adhocParty"?

Simply download the application to be installed on a PlayStation®3 system from PlayStation®Store. No complicated
operation and settings are necessary.

Playable titles on "adhocParty"

Operation of all titles that support adhoc mode is not guaranteed with this software and service. The game may not operate normally for some communication environments or customer defined game (software) environments. Refer to the playable title list for details.
 

 

PlayStation®3

20GB models (CECHB06 / CECHB07) are not equipped with wireless LAN feature and therefore cannot be used.
Use the PlayStation®3 system with a wired connection to a broadband network. This service cannot be used
when using wireless LAN feature to connect to the Internet.
To use this service, you need to update the system software of your PlayStation®3 system to the latest version
frequently.
 

PlayStation®Portable

To use this service, you need to update the system software of your PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system to the latest
version.
 

Sony Entertainment Network Account

This feature cannot be used with a sub account for which chat is restricted
Obtain approval for use of chat features from the master account manager (a parent or guardian) before using “adhocParty for PSP™”.
   
 

In "adhocParty", you can enjoy communication with other players in "Lobby" or "Room" by using text chat or voice chat. You can look for teammates or meet up with friends in "Lobby" to play games via Ad Hoc communication.
Apart from battle or co-op gameplay,there are titles that support communication features during sleep mode, such as the "Card Exchange" mode of 'DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY'.
There are also a lot of handy features, such as search feature to search for players (rooms) that are playing the samegame as you, change the wallpaper and play music in background.
