PlayStation®3 System Software Update Version

An update to the PS3™ system software was released on November 19, 2009. You can use this update to upgrade your system software to version 3.10.

Linking feature for Facebook®

 

You can now share information on Facebook about items such as trophies you have earned and content you have purchased in PlayStation®Store. You can choose the type of information to share or not share under   (PlayStation®Network) >   (Account Management) >   (Facebook).

Share Trophy Information When set to [On], information about trophies you have earned will be displayed on Facebook.

Information about trophies will not be shared if the trophies are not backed up on the PlayStation®Network server.
Share Purchase Information When set to [On], information about content you have purchased in PlayStation®Store will be displayed on Facebook.

You can choose to share or not share this information each time you make a purchase.
Share Game Event Information When set to [On], information about your game events will be displayed on Facebook.

This feature is available only for games that support Facebook.
Delete Account Information Delete the Facebook account information that is saved on the PS3™ system.
Hints
  • You must have a Facebook account to use this feature. To sign up for an account or for more information, visit www.facebook.com.
  • When you set any of the options under   (Account Management) >   (Facebook) to [On] for the first time, the screen for entering your Facebook account information will be displayed.
  • Trophy information is automatically saved on the PlayStation®Network server under the following conditions:
    • When you select   (Game) >  (Trophy Collection) when signed in to PlayStation®Network
    • When you select   (Compare Trophies) in the [Profile] screen under  (Friends)
  • The PS3™ system must be set to connect to the Internet.


Settings

Restore default settings

The PlayStation®Network sign-in ID and password for a user who is currently logged-in have been added as items that can be deleted under  (Settings) >   (System Settings) > [Restore Default Settings].

  • When you perform this operation, the system software and the information for the user who is currently logged in will be restored to the default settings. Be careful when performing this operation as changes to the settings cannot be undone. Data loss or corruption is the responsibility of the user.
  • When multiple users are created on the PS3™ system, information that is managed by each user cannot be restored. The following information may be managed by each user:
    • Sign-in ID and password for PlayStation®Network
    • Bookmarks, history and settings added under (Internet Browser)
    • Information about the image set as wallpaper under   (Photo)
    • Terms added using  (Settings) >   (System Settings) > [Add/Edit Term], or predictive terms "learned" by the on-screen keyboard
    • Keyboard or mouse settings under   (Settings) >   (Accessory Settings)
    • Voice changer settings under  (Settings) >   (Accessory Settings) > [Voice Changer]
    • Theme, color, background and font settings under (Settings) >  (Theme Settings)

Friends

Changing the background color of your profile screen

You can now change the background color of your profile screen. Select the upper left tab of the profile screen, and then press the ○ button to display the color palette. Select the background color for your profile screen from the palette.



Hint

  • You cannot change the background color/colour of other people’s profile screens.
