Main features in system software update version 4.00

■ PlayStation®Vita system compatibility
You can now copy content such as music, video and image data, and games and other applications, from the PS3™ system to the PS Vita system and vice versa. You can also back up the data saved in the PS Vita system to the PS3™ system hard disk. You can also update the system software for your PS Vita system using the network features of the PS3™ system.

To use these features, connect the PS3™ system and the PS Vita system with a USB cable. Operations are done from the PS Vita system.

Settings
[ Delete PS Vita System’s Backup Files ] has been added as a feature under @(System Settings).
Game [PS Vita System Application Utility] has been added.

Setting

Upscaler output and Cinema conversion are now supported for Blu-ray Disc™ (BDMV) content.
"Blu-ray Disc™"and "Blu-ray™" are trademarks of the Blu-ray Disc Association.
You can now select the items you want to update under (System Settings) > [Automatic Update].
This feature is exclusively for use by PlayStation®Plus members.
[English (United Kingdom)] and [Portuguese (Brazil)] have been added as options under (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Language].

For some video streaming services, the icon for the service might appear under the (TV/Video Services) category instead of the (Video) category.

Photo	MPO (Multi-Picture format) files for 3D photos and multi-angle photos can now be displayed under (Photo) and in (Photo Gallery).
PlayStation®Network	A feature has been added for sharing information about products in PlayStation®Store with your Friends. By selecting [Recommend] on the detail page for a product, you can send a message introducing the product to your Friends.
Video	3D playback* of Blu-ray Java™ (“BD-J”) content is now supported. You can now enjoy BD-J content recorded on Blu-ray 3D™ discs. DTS-HD audio output is now supported while playing Blu-ray 3D™ content*.

An unauthorized access to PlayStation®Network has been confirmed and, as a security measure, a process that requires all PlayStation®Network account holders to change passwords has been added.

After you update to version 3.61, you will be required to change your account password the first time you sign in to PlayStation®Network.

Currently, in Hong Kong, you will not be able to immediately change your password after updating your system software.
We will announce the date when you can change your password for PlayStation®Network and use PlayStation®Network services in Hong Kong as soon as the date has been set.
