An update to the PSP® system software was made available on April 21, 2009. If you update your PSP® system, the system software will be version 5.50.

Information Board- To use the information board, you must set your PSP® system to connect to the Internet.

When you select
Select an item from the list, and then press the O button. Depending on the content, either the PlayStation®Store screen will be displayed or the Internet browser will start, allowing you to view details about the selected item.

When music files are stored on Memory Stick Duo™ media with the directory structure shown in the diagram, the files contained in the second level subfolders under [MUSIC] can now be viewed from the XMB™ menu.

Access to PlayStation®StoreYou can now access PlayStation®Store without having a PlayStation®Network account. Before signing up for a PlayStation®Network account, you can browse content such as games or demos that are available on PlayStation®Store.

If you select the control buttons at the top right of the screen, attempt to download content, or add content to your shopping cart, the sign-up screen will be displayed. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign up for a PlayStation®Network account.
PlayStation®Network
Downloading gamesLess free space is now required when downloading games from PlayStation®Store to Memory Stick Duo™ media.
Previously, it was necessary to have free space on the Memory Stick Duo™ equal to twice the size of the game to be downloaded. With system software version 5.50, you can now download games from PlayStation®Store to Memory Stick Duo™ media if there is free space equal to the size of the content to be downloaded.
