Gravity Daze on PlayStation®Vita. –A talk with Keiichiro Toyama.

“The concept of the game Gravity Daze is to manupilate gravity and move freely in a 3D space. The three features of this game: first is the experience of brand-new and unprecedented gravity actions realized by the gyro motion sensor of PlayStation®Vita The second feature is the realization of highly-refined graphics with shaders by utilizing the beautiful display of OLED screen. The third feature is a world view and story rich in originality ceated in a comic and animation-like style. These are the three features of this game.”

“The game is set in a floating town called Hekseville in a fictional world, hekseville is being attacked by Gravity Storm and is under the threat of a real crisis. This story tells of the protagonist, a girl named Gravity Kitten rescuing the people from the threat of Gravity Storm. She has lost her memory in the beginning of the game and does not possess any special ability. The story goes on as she encounters the mysterious black cat and obtains the ability to manupilate gravity and that is how she embarks on an adventure to rescue the people attacked by Gravity Storm.”

“Gamers are confronted by mysterious monsters called Nevi in this game which appear in the town along with the Gravity Storm. The core is their weak point. The Nevi that appear at the beginning of the game are small in size, but as the story goes on you will encounter new Nevi in bigger sizes and varying forms enhancing the fun of the game. The biggest feature of this game is an action called "Gravity Change", first you have to press R Button to put your character into a zero-G state, floating in mid-air. Tilt your PS Vita to control the camera angle.Face your desired direction and press R button again that direction will become the ground. And your character will fall towards it. Repeat this action will allow you to roam the sky freely. The character can stand and walk on a wall perform unique actions. Gravity actions are also useful in battles, the main action is "Gravity Kick" which is unleashed by the power generated when the character falls and attacking the enemy directly to result in devastating damage. So this is the type of action gamers can perform ,there are also other types of actions like lifting nearby items to attack enemies.”
