STREET FIGHTER IV and Resident Evil 5 Join PlayStation®Home

TST, Kln, February 10, 2009 – Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited (SCEH) today announced that two new great software titles for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) from Capcom Co., Ltd., STREET FIGHTER IV and Resident Evil 5, available in stores on February 12 and March 5 respectively for Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan and market, will join PlayStation®Home. Features will include game launch from PlayStation Home, Home Rewards, themed items to be sold within PlayStation Home and Resident Evil 5 space.
Users will be able to launch Resident Evil 5 game from PlayStation Home from anywhere within PlayStation Home, by simply selecting it from the menu pad, and enjoy “Co-op play” along with their friends or with other users on-line. This feature will be supported concurrently with the release of the game. PlayStation Home will also support game launch for STREET FIGHTER IV, but this feature will not become available simultaneously with the disc release, but at a later timing through STREET FIGHTER IV software update. Details will be announced in the PlayStation Home official website (http://asia.playstation.com/home) as they become available.
Additionally, both titles will support Home Rewards feature. This feature will become available for Resident Evil 5 concurrently with the release of the game, and also become available for STREET FIGHTER IV through the software update after the release of the game. Users will receive exclusive items for PlayStation Home depending on the playing times/hours, level of their game play, etc. PlayStation Home users will also be able to buy character themed items such as costumes for Guile and Chun-Li from STREET FIGHTER IV and for Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil 5, and use them to customize their own PlayStation Home avatars. These themed items from both titles will be added to PlayStation Home regularly after the release of each game.
Highly anticipated game themed virtual space featuring Resident Evil 5, will also open in PlayStation Home. It is designed after the in-game map, and within this high definition virtual environment, users will be able to enjoy special events or buy Resident Evil themed items for PlayStation Home.
SCEH will vigorously promote the expansion of the world of PS3 by introducing new services that will open up new possibilities and enjoyment in interactive entertainment.
