To conserve power, the screen can be turned off when it is not needed (for example, when playing music).
1. Find the Display button located directly to the right of the PSP logo on the front of the system.
2. Hold down the Display button for two seconds to turn the screen off.
3. To turn the screen back on, simply press this button once. Note that this can be used in conjunction with the power/hold switch after turning off the screen for additionally protect against unintended operation.
